Cariss Auburn’s soul-pop electronica is genre-bending and confessional.
A singer-songwriter and self-taught producer from Wolverhampton, UK, Cariss' first single of 2021, ‘Float’, made a huge splash with praise from The Line of Best Fit, COLORS and gal-dem and spins on BBC 1XTRA & BBC6Music.
Single ‘Daydream' or as Cariss calls it “my own little 3-minute holiday” solidified her status as a newcomer to watch on the UK alt-pop scene, with continued support from Spotify Fresh Finds play-listing and her first Radio 1 spin courtesy of BBC Introducing’s Gemma Bradley.
Supported by PRS Foundation Women Make Music, Cariss’ EP ‘Refraction’ is out now, final track Call Me Up features on this week's Best New Music playlist by i-D Magazine on Spotify.
“Cariss Auburn is unafraid to be her authentic self” – The Line of Best Fit “a curious blend of dark pop, R&B, and ethereal melodies a la Kelela and FKA Twigs.” – Refinery29
